Here are some pros and cons on publishing your book on the above mentioned places.

A- ON YOUR OWN WEBSITE

PROs:

  1. You can price it higher and don’t have to lower the price to keep up with your competition.
  2. You have control. You can collect email addresses, run discounts.

CONs:

  1. You get less exposure.

B- ON AMAZON / LULU/ BARNES AND NOBLE

PROs

  1. You will get more exposure. Thousands of people buy from the above mentioned marketplaces daily.
  2. You will get more credibility. Everyone trust the above mentioned marketplaces.

CONs:

  1. You will get paid less.The marketplaces take a cut out of your ebook price.
  2. You will have little to no control.

STEP2:PUBLISH YOUR EBOOK

Once you’ve decided where to sell your ebook you can get on to the publishing phase. There are links to guides to sell on Amazon,Lulu and Barnes and Noble above. I’ll show you how to sell your ebook on your website.

You will first need a software to do the heavy lifting such as collecting payments and delivering your ebook . HEre are some of the best softwares to do it.

  • Sendowl (You have to pay 15$ per month . They don’t take a cut out of your payments)
  • Woocommerce. (It’s free but you’ll need extensions for it)

FOR WOOCOMMERCE/SENDOWL

You have to go to the add new product and then upload a picture of it , add the price and enter the url where it is stored.

STEP3:CREATE A SALE PAGE FOR YOUR EBOOK

A sales page is basically a page where you describe your product, display reviews related to the product and give your audience the option to buy it.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN A SALES PAGE

Here are some of the elements which are necessary in a sales page:

A VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF YOUR EBOOK

Your sales page should contain a picture of your ebook and any bonuses that you are offering with it..

A HOOK OR TAGLINE

This is a one sentence description of your ebook.It should tell the readers about your ebook

BENEFITS AND FEATURES OF YOUR EBOOK

Tell your readers how your ebook will benefit them, the number of pages and other important things about your ebook.

TESTIMONIALS

Before launching your ebook give some copies for free to your friends or family and ask them for reviews. You can include them in your sales page.

ABOUT ME SECTION

Tell the readers about yourself. And why your started writing this ebook and how it would benefit them

REFUND/FAQ SECTION

Your sales page should answer all the questions a reader has and you can answer some of the most common questions there and also include your Refund Policy.

GRAPHICS

As your sales page will be mainly text you should also include graphics to make it easy for the reader to go through them and also include a buy now button.
